INtangled (2026)

INtangled is a solo dance work that gets under your skin. Performed with a custom elastic net apparatus, it pulls you into the physical reality of emotional entanglement — the things we cling to, the things that hold us, and the cost of trying to break free. Through original electronic score and an improvised dialogue with live musicians, Alara moves between athletic power and raw vulnerability, to construct a piece that feels less like watching and more like remembering something true about yourself. Equal parts visual art installation and visceral live performance, INtangled opens conversations that conventional formats can't touch.

Created with the artistic and drematurgical support of Penelope Morout and bespoke music from Yildiray Yener - INtangled premiered in Akyaka, Turkey in May 2026.

8.30am (2025)

8:30 a.m. is a solo work built around an original poem that sits with the duality at the heart of human experience: the hunger to be truly seen, and the terror of it. Expressive, explosive and ultimately heartwarming, the piece moves through the restlessness of a mind that won't quiet, the faces we put on for the world, and the ones we can barely admit to ourselves — before turning directly to the audience. No longer just watching, they are invited to be seen too: to sit with whatever arises, and to discover the spontaneous joy that can come when you take the risk of leaning into it.

Created during a residency with Kalakeli Movement arts and further developed in preperation for Kerem Topuz's art exhibition Hidden Faces - The complete version of 8.30am premiered in September 2025 in Akcapinar, Turkey.
